Depending on your network bandwidth, storage and RAM can affect how fast you can download it. Mine took about 2 days on my newest node running on SFF Dell optiplex. It’s a pretty data set to download every transaction that’s ever happened……

SHA 256 POW can be upgraded to a different POW to be quantum proof. There have been many times in BTCs history where such quick changes had to be made so I’m not worried . The great thing about Bitcoin is that it can be upgraded to avoid failure……
