This video is based on the false premise that node operators are going to open a channel exclusively to the “hub” channels because of the throughput bottlenecks.. while it does make sense on paper in this specific example given, most people aren’t transacting with 2BTC ($30000) as the example states so the need to go through these large hubs is not usually necessary. Transacting with these hubs are also more expensive in most cases than going through pleb peers. While yes, you need to preload channels, you also have to preload debit cards, collateralize loans or lockup the money in other financial tools if you want to use them too.
